Pub crawling in the East and West Midlands
Some of the best pubs in England are located in the East and West Midlands, and doing a pub crawl is practically a rite of passage for visitors. Even for those who live there, a special occasion or a gathering of old friends demands heading out for an evening or weekend to experience the best of the entertainment scene in Tamworth, Lichfield, Ashby de la Gouch and other cities in the region. The term 'pub crawl' has been in use since the 1800s, though the dynamics were certainly different back then. Those going out for the night had to stick to pubs within a tighter radius, and they wouldn't have been armed with pub-crawl paraphernalia like mobile phones or a packet of Mates Condoms (just in case).
But these differences are minor, and the social excitement of a pub crawl would've been the same back then as it is now. The East and West Midlands are well known for their traditional pubs. Wetherspoons is a great place to stop in Tamworth; Lichfield has Queens Head and Earl of Lichfield; while Ashby de la Zouch has the Plough Inn and the Lamb Inn. Pub crawling works as a just-for-fun night out, but it's also a good way to meet singles. People are in a happy state of mind when they're out with their friends at the weekend. While a night out at the pub may not be the most romantic situation, there's still the potential to make a connection. That's why any sensible reveller carries Mates Condoms with them.
