Various Ways to Stay Healthy in a Bar
After a busy week at work, it is time to unwind in a bar. Here, you can enjoy a drink, chat with friends, and play darts and billiards. This is also a place where you can dine on good, old classic food like burgers, French fries, or steak. Unfortunately, these meals are bad for your body. Here are some guidelines on how to stay healthy in a bar.
First, order light meals to go with your drink. Appetizers such as calamari, buffalo wings, or green salads are examples of light food. If you want a bigger meal, order a steak but be sure it is grilled. Remember that fried meats have 300 to 700 calories and 20 to 60 grams of fat more than grilled ones. If you want to lessen your caloric intake, choose wines and cocktails rather than malt products such as beer or whiskey. In addition, avoid eating salty food such as pretzels or peanuts. The salt in these foods dehydrates you, causing you to drink more alcoholic beverages.
Do not neglect to drink water or juice every now and then. This is because water counteracts the alcohol in your bloodstream that causes the terrible hangover the next day. The liquid also causes you to pee more often, eliminating toxins and alcohol from your body. Avoid staying in your seat for a long time, too. Indulge in other activities such as dancing, playing bar games, or simply walking around to talk to people. Doing these activities reduces your alcoholic intake, preventing you from getting drunk way ahead of time. Lastly, if you feel you are getting drunk or dizzy, stop drinking and ask someone to take you home. This is your body's response to an overdose of ethanol in your bloodstream.
